In our team Technology & Innovation within Corporate Development, we aim to systematically develop new businesses for the Fresenius Group, beginning with deep understanding of underlying technologies and business plans for their potential to make meaningful contributions to the Fresenius Portfolio. We prioritize and pursue Group-wide investments in novel technologies, and so pave the way for our entry into new markets and future growth areas - always in cooperation with the Group companies we support. Technologies in focus may be from well-established areas with new uses, as well as entirely novel ideas with large potential and disruptive trends. By doing so, we shape the role today, that Fresenius will play in healthcare systems of the coming decade.

Your tasks
Identification and evaluation of internal sources of innovation for medical technology within Fresenius, leading to the initiation of greenfield projects.
Collaboration with internal technical and business teams to develop comprehensive business and investment cases for new ventures.
Proactively sourcing, evaluating, and securing high-potential investment opportunities and driving the collaborative triage and investment process
Leading cross-functional teams to execute investment projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and timelines
Dealing with urgent operational matters and business development discussions as required, as well as serving as the primary liaison between the healthcare company and portfolio companies, fostering relationships and ensuring strategic alignment
Management and monitoring the progress of external investments as well as internal projects, providing regular updates and strategic recommendations to the Executive Innovation Council & Fund.
In preparation of the above, definition and refinement of the investment strategy to align with the overarching goals of the organization and conducting thorough market research, due diligence, and financial analysis to ensure informed investment decisions

Your profile

University degree in a relevant technical or medical field, combined with an MBA or equivalent experience in business and finance as a mandatory requirement
A minimum of 7 years of experience in a med-tech environment, with at least 3 years in clear business functions (venture capital, investment banking, or strategic investment roles), focused on healthcare technologies
Comprehensive knowledge of medical device landscapes and digital health technologies, ideally focused on connected hospitals, with a proven track record of successful technical evaluations and investment decisions
Exceptional analytical skills including a strong ability to make analyses transparent through documentation and communication, as well as experience in financial modeling, market analysis and technical due diligence
Excellent communication and presentation skills (including drafting of required documents), combined with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and negotiate effectively at all levels
Excellent leadership and project management abilities, capable of leading diverse teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously
Visionary thinker with a forward-looking approach to investment and innovation, a collaborative mindset and a strong emphasis on teamwork and internal partnership
Ethical, transparent and highly adaptable individual with a strong hands-on mentality and a commitment to the highest standards of professionalism and integrity, who is able to navigate complex, fast-paced environments
Business fluency in English as a mandatory requirement, knowledge of German and Spanish would be an advantage
